Punta Vincente Roca

After the exciting morning of the tuna catch, we motored around the western point of Isabela to Punta Vincente Roca.

There is no place for a landing here so right before lunch we snorkeled in the little cove. Honestly, it was like being in an aquarium. Tons of Green Sea Turtles just gliding all around, some with large angel fish gleaning things off their shells. Sea lions playing everywhere!

Green Sea Turtle

I had fully intended to take some underwater photos and had rented a small camera for just that purpose. Unfortunately, the first time I snorkled, the camera somehow took on water and died, best laid plans and all!

Brown Noddies

After lunch we loaded up in the pangas for a ride along the cliffs of the coast. Really interesting volcanic formations with lots of interesting occupants!

Sally Lightfoot Crab

There’s four in the photo if you look for them, all different stages of life.

Wonderful colors!

Marine Iguana

This was our first real encounter with these guys. Differing from the land iguanas in color and size but the big thing is they swim! Very prehistoric looking, like small dragons.

I’m still getting over swimming with sea turtles! Not so sure about swimming with iguanas! Love your travels.
