Life on the Pond

I tossed my camera in the truck this morning, just in case.  I knew I was going to be by a small pond where  some red wing blackbirds have been hanging out.  For whatever reason, I really like these guys.  Jet black with a small splash of red and light yellow on their shoulders.  They typically hang out in wet marshy areas near ponds and streams with open fields nearby.  This guy here was making quite a fuss as you can see.  Along with the male red wing blackbirds were a bunch of females playing around in all the cattails.  Flying in and out and chattering the whole time.
