North of us along the river is a rookery of great blue herons.  It’s been there for quite a while and with the leaves still off the trees you can really see the scale of this settlement.  It’s hard to get an exact count from this image, but it’s certainly over sixty nests!  I really like the evening shot with the setting sun behind, very restful.  This is a five shot panorama, showing all the nests.  Playing off the theme of the opening gallery, another birdscape.
