Corkscrew

Spent most of yesterday walking the boardwalk at Corkscrew Swamp and Sanctuary.  I’ve been several times in the past and every time is different.  Since this is the dry season the water is down there’s not as much wildlife.  I spent a lot of the time looking for something a little different.

Since the sun was pretty high in the sky, the reflections caught my eye.  Here peeking out from behind the tree.

Looks like a painting!  I actually flipped this vertically to make it seem right side up, instead of as a reflection. The ripples in the water give it that painterly look.

Some of the little details!

Often times, I would have people come up to me asking what I was seeing, if it was a bird or something.  When I explained it was some small detail in a tree or a reflection in the water, they lost interest pretty quick.  It’s easy to miss a lot of things in such a large landscape!  Stop and look closely!
