My first attempt at star trails! This was right outside our front door last night. One of the few relatively clear nights we’ve had in the last couple weeks. Also night after a new moon which made for a fairly dark sky, although there is still a ton of light pollution. This is only twenty one images which is why the trails are short. This mostly do to battery life in the camera. With a hundred or more images the trails will make a complete continuous circle. That circle is around the north star which is to the left behind the trees. The images are then stacked in photoshop. I’ll be in Montana in a couple of weeks where the sky is really dark and the stars really bright! I think I’ve got the battery life figured out so I’m looking forward to trying this again where there are mountains and lakes for a little more interesting foreground.

Well done friend! I like the squiggle lines!
Thanks. Can’t wait to try it on a really dark/bright sky
