I was in North Central New Mexico last week – the high country. I was fly fishing with my brothers, but that didn’t stop me from taking along some of my camera gear. I’ve just started going through the files and it seems that black and white may be the order of the day here.
This is a shot looking north up the Brazos river, a great natural habitat for rainbow, cut bow and brook trout. It also can be pretty dramatic looking as well. Since this is partly a high dessert area, the colors are pretty muted thus the B&W.
As you can see the sky can be pretty dramatic too, another reason for the B&W, lots of contrast and more powerful than color, at least I think so. As I go through the files this week, I’ll keep posting some more shots, so stay tuned!

Great compositions and I can see what you meant about the sky! I really like them both.
