It’s hard to imagine a rainy, drizzly, misty day would have absolutely perfect lighting. Well, today was that day. Not the most comfortable, for me or the equipment, but it was worth it for sure. Today we were in Little Estero Bay at Fort Myers Beach. And spent a fair amount of time in the bay, mucking around following tricolor herons, snowy egrets, great egrets, reddish egrets, american oyster catchers and others. I have all my equipment and clothes still spread out in the room drying out, but boy, did they put on a show today!
snowy egret, just clowning around waiting….
till it was time to go fishing!
a tricolor heron raises his wings to create some shade. This entices the little bait fish to swim to the shade where they think it’s safe, then…..
BANG! Lunch
It can get a little sticky out there looking for breakfast. An american oyster catcher working a little harder this morning.
And the pelican sat serenely by, just watching

Who would have thought? You’re right about the lighting though, nice reflections and again, great shots!
