What a beautiful morning. What a cold morning. 4, that’s right, 4 degrees when I first peeked outside today. The sun was shining though and in a usually grey Ohio winter, sun is good. We have this big old beech tree at the edge of the woods in front of the house and a couple feeders under it, and everybody was busy with breakfast today. Crunching through the snow into the woods sure didn’t seem to bother anyone. I guess when you have to eat so much just to stay warm, little distractions like me aren’t so big. Lots of Cardinals, but they are our state bird after all. This also seems to be a popular spot for the woodpeckers, being as close to the woods as it is. The only thing missing were the deer, I guess i was too much of an annoyance for them to visit this morning. Either that or they were down at Deb’s house – they hang out there a lot. Go ahead and click on the image above to see more of the breakfast buffet, and when you do, don’t forget to click on the little screen in the upper right corner to go to full screen – it’s very cool.

4 YIKES! Now that is cold! Love the slides show and the way you framed the birds with the leaves.
Thanks Denise. I really like to show some habitat with the birds. It’s where they live after all. Would have stayed out longer but the fingers were starting to go numb!
Hey! I know that tree! Nice lighting and composition Mark.
Thank you Debra. Now if you would let your deer come up here once on a while…..
