First shot of the day on the first day of the trip – holy cow! A beautiful sunrise greeted our group this morning and it bodes well for the rest of the day, that’s for sure. There isn’t anything I could write here or enough of images I could post that would give you an idea of what it was like today. An experience unlike anything in my life. Spiritual was one word that kept popping up amongst the group. So because it’s very late and we must get up very early, this will be short and sweet. Just a few images to give you an idea of this glorious place.
BLAST OFF!!!
Zillions of snow geese, more than I can guess gather and gather and gather until the group becomes so huge. Then….
boom!
off they go. And tell me, how do they keep from running into one another?
The sky is literally filled with snow geese. A wondrous sight.
And the snow geese aren’t the only ones. Red winged blackbirds, one of my favorites, also collect into huge groups, feeding in the fields then all of a sudden off they go into an amazing choreographed arial ballet swooping all over the sky. We had one group zoom right over our heads this morning and the sound of their wing beats was deafening.
Still dancing at sunset
Started the day with a spectacular sunrise – the sunset, equally so.
